On Memorial Day, I was up early to have breakfast in Belfast, and find a prime spot to watch the parade. The friendly bartender at the Belfast American Legion told me that the parade would begin at 10am. I found a spot and had my camera ready when the time came. I was curious as to why main street was not closed off for the parade. When the time came, however, I realized the protocol.

Next, the Color Guard from the Local VFW. |

This woman was quite motivational. "Are YOU Proud to be an American?!!" |

Last, but not least, the Belfast Fire Truck |

Finally, the Policeman brings up the rear, indicating the Parade has come to an end. |
The parade, I must say, was brief. The participants, however, were quite enthusiastic. There was a moderate amount of spectators lining main street, and I felt like Belfast did a good job of celebrating Memorial Day, and taking a moment to pause. My favorite part was when the Color Guard passed by, the people on the sidewalk applauded the Veterans.
