French Cemetary

I am pleased to find that each town in the area participated in events for Memorial Day (however small the contribution may be).  On the Friday before the start of the weekend, I was driving back from Camden, and saw the turnoff for French Cemetery.  I decided to have a look.

The Entrance.  Not sure why it's called "French Cemetery".

Evidently, the local American Legion placed flags on the graves of veterans.

I wonder if this family has anything to do with the cemetery name?

These headstones are so old, you can't read them anymore.
